The ideal candidate will have healthcare HR experience and have worked in HR in California. Although we prefer inpatient or residential healthcare experience we will consider hospitality, retail or service industry experience.

As a strategic partner, the Human Resources Director aligns business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. Serves as a consultant to leadership on Human Resource related issues. Acts as employee champion and change agent. Assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management, the Human Resources Director seeks to develop integrated solutions. Formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. Acts as a true partner to the business leadership with a team mentality. Maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business units financial position, its mid-range plans, its culture and its competition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides HR consultation support for 400 employees on a variety HR-related topics.

• Responsible for recruitment, selection (in collaboration with hiring manager), on boarding of new staff.

• Analyzes and interprets sensitive internal and external ER activities.

• Identifies training needs for staff.

• Responsible for ensuring that HR files are in compliance with regulatory bodies.

• Develops and interprets HR policy and Employee Handbooks.

• Provides orientation.

• Communicates best practices and oversees select vendor relationships for HR.

• Performs other duties as assigned/required.

• 3 to 5 years HR experience in a leadership role, preferably in a behavioral health hospital environment. • Able to work collaboratively and effectively with the field to achieve good outcomes. • Must be responsive in managing issues that require timely management/oversight. • Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws. • Must maintain sensitive employee information as confidential. • Knowledge of Lawson, Microsoft office (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.), etc. • Must have strong HR generalist and full cycle recruitment background. A PHR or SPHR certification highly preferred.
